GENERALITIES:

Silicone-Acryl Sealant TRANSPARENT is a unique hybrid sealant based on siliconized acrylic dispersion with a distinctive visual property: the paste is white during application — allowing precise visual control of the bead — but dries to a crystal-clear transparent finish as the water evaporates. It shares the same high-performance hybrid formulation as the White variant (600 % elongation, ±20 % movement capability), combining acrylic paintability with silicone-grade flexibility. The transparent cure makes it the ideal choice for joints where colour matching is difficult, where a visible sealant line would be obtrusive, or where the natural appearance of the substrate must be preserved.

  • White-to-Clear Transition: Applies as a visible white paste for precise placement; cures to a fully transparent finish.
  • Invisible Joints: Ideal for sealing between different-coloured or different-material surfaces where no sealant colour would be a perfect match.
  • Hybrid Performance: Same siliconized acrylic formulation as the White variant — superior flexibility and moisture resistance compared to standard acrylics.
  • Paintable: Can be painted over with acrylic and dispersion paints after full cure, if desired — unlike pure clear silicone.
  • Superior Elasticity: 600 % elongation and ±20 % dilatation capability accommodate substrate movement without cracking.
  • Universal Adhesion: Excellent grip on wood, concrete, plaster, hardened PVC, and metals.
  • Solvent-Free: Odourless formulation safe for interior use.

USAGE / EXAMPLE OF USE:

  • Invisible Joinery: Sealing joints between different wood species, or between wooden elements and coloured walls, where no available sealant colour would match both surfaces — the transparent cure makes the joint disappear.
  • Furniture Finishing: Discreet sealing of gaps in fitted furniture, wardrobes, display cabinets, and shelving units where a white or coloured sealant line would be visually disruptive.
  • Window Sills: Sealing gaps around natural wood, stone, or marble window sills where the sealant must remain invisible against the substrate.
  • Decorative Elements: Fixing and sealing polystyrene mouldings, ceiling rosettes, and decorative trim — any excess sealant becomes invisible once dry.
  • Multi-Material Connections: Sealing joints involving glass blocks, decorative panels, or tiled surfaces in non-structural interior applications where colour-neutral sealing is required.
  • Renovation Work: Filling hairline cracks in surfaces with exposed textures (natural stone, decorative plaster, exposed brick) where a coloured sealant would stand out.

APPLICATION / HANDLING:

SUBSTRATE:

Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of grease, dust, and loose particles. Compatible with slightly damp substrates. Highly absorbent surfaces should be primed with penetrating primer S2802A, S-T70, or diluted sealant-water mixture (1:2).

INSTRUCTIONS:

Cut the nozzle to the desired bead width.

Apply the white paste into the joint using a mechanical or pneumatic caulking gun.

Tool the joint immediately with a spatula dipped in water.

Allow sufficient drying time for the colour to transition from white to fully transparent. This is essential — do not paint or evaluate the final appearance until the sealant is completely clear.

If painting is desired, wait until the sealant is fully transparent and cured.

IMPORTANT — TRANSPARENCY DEPENDS ON DRYING CONDITIONS:

The white-to-clear transition occurs only as water evaporates from the sealant. Thick layers, cold temperatures, or high humidity will significantly delay the transition.

Do not use in fully enclosed constructions where water cannot evaporate — the sealant may never become fully transparent.

Apply with slight overfill to compensate for volume shrinkage (~40 %) during drying.

NOTE ON COLOUR VARIANTS:

The Transparent version is white at application and dries clear. The White version (and other coloured variants) retain their colour during application and after curing — e.g. white stays white.

LIMITATIONS:

Not suitable for areas permanently submerged in water or for permanent moisture exposure without a protective paint coating. Not suitable for use on PE, PP, bituminous substrates, or Teflon. Do not use in fully enclosed (airtight) constructions — the transparency effect requires water evaporation. The white-to-clear transition time depends on layer thickness, ambient temperature, and humidity.

CLEANING:

Fresh (uncured, white) material: water or damp cloth. Cured (clear) material: Hraniclean 01 or mechanical removal. Hands: soap and water, followed by repair hand cream.

PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE USING:

Ensure adequate ventilation during application. Avoid prolonged skin and eye contact. Keep out of reach of children. Refer to Safety Data Sheet for full information.

STORAGE:

Store in original unopened packaging in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

Temperature range: +5 °C to +25 °C.
