Descripción del producto

GENERALITIES:

H-Silicone MIRROR is a premium, single-component NEUTRAL silicone sealant based on alcoxy technology, specifically formulated for safe bonding and sealing of mirrors and glass elements. Unlike acetoxy silicones, its neutral curing system is odourless and non-corrosive — it will not attack mirror backings (amalgam) or sensitive metals.

Certified to EN 15651-2 for glazing applications. Features 300 % elongation with permanent elasticity and UV stability. Excellent primerless adhesion to glass, glazed surfaces, wood, ceramics, enamel, lacquered surfaces, and laminate boards. Temperature resistance –40 °C to +150 °C after curing. Not paintable.

  • Mirror Safe: Neutral alcoxy cure guarantees no corrosion or damage to mirror silvering.
  • Non-Corrosive: Safe for sensitive metals (copper, brass, lead) and alkaline substrates (concrete, plaster).
  • EN 15651-2 Certified: Fully compliant with glazing standards.
  • Odourless: No harsh vinegar smell during curing — ideal for interior use.
  • Wide Temperature Range: Performs from –40 °C to +150 °C after curing.

USAGE / EXAMPLE OF USE:

  • Furniture Manufacturing: Bonding mirrors to wooden wardrobe doors, mounting glass panels in cabinetry, and securing glass shelves in vitrines where a non-damaging bond is required.
  • Joinery & Assembly: Sealing edges of mirrors in frames, bonding decorative glass elements to furniture facades, and assembling glass-to-glass furniture components.
  • Interior Installation: Mounting mirrors in bathrooms and commercial spaces (with mechanical support until cured), sealing joints between mirrors and tiles or walls.
  • Construction Glazing: Top sealing of glazing systems, sealing glass assemblies, and sealing lacquered and glazed surfaces.
  • General Workshop: Elastic bonding of compatible transparent plastics, sealing in building and steel construction, and diverse applications requiring a neutral, clear adhesive.

APPLICATION / HANDLING:

Surfaces must be clean, firm, and free of loose particles, dust, grease, and oil. Degrease surfaces using acetone or ethanol (glass, glaze, metal) or detergent (synthetic materials). Old sealant residues must be removed completely.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Cut the cartridge tip and attach the application nozzle. Cut the nozzle to the desired bead width (min. 4 mm).

For Mirrors: Apply the silicone in vertical strips (never closed circles) on the back of the mirror to allow air circulation for curing. Press the mirror onto the substrate immediately.

Important: Heavy mirrors must be mechanically supported (tape, brackets) for at least 24 hours until the silicone fully cures.

For Sealing: Fill the joint evenly and smooth with a spatula dipped in soapy water before skin formation (5–30 minutes depending on conditions).

Joint dimensions: minimum width 4 mm, maximum width 25 mm. Ideal joint width-to-depth ratio is 2:1.

LIMITATIONS:

Not suitable for joints permanently submerged in water, aquariums, or applications with continuous water exposure. Not suitable for use on PMMA, PE, PP, PC, ABS, Teflon, bituminous substrates, or wax-coated surfaces.

MAINTENANCE:

For extended service life, clean sealed joints only with neutral or alcohol-based cleaning agents.

CLEANING:

Uncured silicone should be removed immediately using Hraniclean 01. Cured material can only be removed mechanically. Hands should be washed with soap and water; a restorative hand cream is recommended.

PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE USING:

Ensure good ventilation during application and curing. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Keep out of reach of children. Please consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for detailed safety information.

STORAGE:

Store in the original unopened packaging in a dry place.

Temperature range: +5 °C to +25 °C.

Shelf life: 12 months from the date of manufacture.
