H-POLYMER STP - Transparent Polymer

GENERALITIES:

H-Polymer STP TRANSPARENT is a crystal-clear hybrid sealant-adhesive based on SPUR (Silane-Terminated Polyurethane) technology. Designed for interior applications requiring invisible joints, it seals and bonds in a single step.

Its exceptional flexibility — 450 % elongation, 0.5 MPa modulus, 30 Shore A hardness — minimizes stress transfer to delicate substrates like glass and mirrors. Nearly odourless and waterproof. Temperature resistance –30 °C to +70 °C after curing. Paintable with water-based paints (compatibility test recommended).

USAGE / EXAMPLE OF USE:

• Furniture & Glass Assembly: Invisible bonding of glass shelves, brackets, and decorative elements in display cabinets and vitrines where mechanical fasteners would be visually intrusive.
• Joinery Finishing: Discreet sealing of joints between wooden furniture components and walls, or bonding of protective edge strips where colour matching is difficult.
• Interior Decoration: Bonding mirrors, transparent plastics (compatible types), and light fittings in residential and commercial interiors.
• Interior Construction Sealing: Filling and sealing joints in window frames, door casings, and partitions where a clear, flexible seal must blend with varying substrate colours.
• Vibration Dampening: Elastic bonding of non-structural components in workshop machinery or metalwork to reduce noise and rattle.

TECHNICAL DATA & SUITABLE WORKING CONDITIONS:

APPLICATION / HANDLING:

The substrate must be clean, dry, firm, and free of loose particles, dust, grease, and oil.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Cut the cartridge tip and attach the nozzle. Cut the nozzle to the desired width (minimum 4 mm contact area recommended).

Apply using a mechanical or pneumatic caulking gun.

For bonding: Apply in vertical strips approximately 30 cm apart. Press materials together gently. If immediate fixation is not possible, insert 3 mm thick double-sided tape between adhesive beads to maintain spacing and hold components in position.

For sealing: Fill the joint evenly and smooth with a spatula or soapy water before the skin forms (within 30 minutes at 23 °C / 50% RH).

Remove masking tape immediately after smoothing.

IMPORTANT:

On damp substrates, expect increase bubble formation during curing, which may reduce tensile and shear properties due to decreased effective cross-section.

LIMITATIONS:

Interior use only – not suitable for exterior application. Prolonged exposure to extreme conditions and UV radiation may cause degradation and colour change.

Not suitable for use on PE, PP, Teflon (PTFE), or bituminous substrates. Not recommended for expansion joints, aquarium glazing, or applications involving continuous water immersion.

Avoid exposure to high chlorine levels, contact with alcohol, and solvent-based cleaners during the curing period. Given the wide variety of available paints, we recommend performing a compatibility test before overpainting.

CLEANING:

Uncured material should be removed immediately using Hraniclean 01. Fully cured material can only be removed by mechanical means. Hands should be washed with soap and water; a restorative hand cream is recommended.

PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE USING:

Please consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before handling this product. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and curing. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Keep out of reach of children.

STORAGE:

Store in the original unopened packaging in a dry place.

Temperature range: +5°C to +25°C.

Shelf life: 12 months from the date of manufacture.
